  • Be lazy

    Be lazy

    We need more lazy people.

People too lazy to be insincere.

    Too lazy to be fake.

Too lazy to be attention whores.

Too lazy to live double lives.

    Too lazy to be angry.

Because face it. All of that requires a whole lot more effort than the alternative.

Imagine what life would be like if we put all that energy for fakeness into something that actually brings us true joy?

Not sure where to start? Let’s chat about a coaching approach that is affordable and works for you.

I do in-person and virtual consultations, so it doesn’t matter where in the world you are. From only US$30 per session, it’s more affordable than you thought.

  • Psssst, guess what?

    Psssst, guess what?

The universe is not waiting to serve you. It’s time to own your shit.

“Expecting life to treat you well because you’re a good person is like expecting a bull not to charge at you because you’re a vegetarian.” (Unknown)

This is my favourite quote whenever I come across someone that feels defeated because they were expecting the good that they do to be returned to them by ‘the universe’. I think it’s exceptionally arrogant to believe that the universe is actively conspiring to treat us well, or treat us badly, because of what we send forth. No. There are manipulators and con artists that get good to come their way all the time despite using everyone else as pawns in their game of life. And then when one bad thing happens to them, people are quick to jump on that karma bandwagon. So, let me get this straight…a lifetime of unethical and underhanded behaviour is repaid by a single event of loss or tragedy, and that’s supposed to be karma? No. It’s life. We are only ever good at what we set our minds to. If there was true justice in this world, we wouldn’t have the kind of problems that we’re facing as humanity. Let’s keep it real. Shall we?

  • Insomnia, Anxiety, Mental Clutter – Be gone

Insomnia, Anxiety, Mental Clutter – Be gone

Here’s a technique that I developed many years ago when insomnia was a friend of mine. I’ve since found it to be very effective for not just insomnia, but also for anxiety, mental clutter, or just overall peace of mind. When you feel anxious or frustrated, or if you’re struggling to focus, try this out and let me know how it works for you.

This technique is discussed in more detail in my book titled Own Your Sh!t.

  • New spaces

    New spaces

My daughter has been nesting more than usual recently. And she’s been bullying me for my phone to take photos like these of her nesting efforts. These flowers from the garden are surprisingly cheerful. They look beautiful in the garden, but they really pop in the house. I guess it’s a reminder in a way that in our usual environment we blend in or appear ordinary, but explore new spaces and what we have to offer suddenly takes on a new richness. I think I’m in this space now…but grappling with the mechanics of figuring out how to insert myself into new spaces. It’s not the unfamiliarity that I find challenging, it’s simply access. Maintaining a low social profile makes it that much more difficult to break new ground when that new ground is intricately woven with other beings. Never a dull life…

Listen in for a discussion on why my latest book is so important in changing the narrative of the mental health issues that are spiralling out of control. It’s only once we gain a fresh perspective on old challenges that we can hope to find new ways of resolving them.

  • Start before you’re ready!

    Start before you’re ready!

Today I decided to take my own advice. I recorded my first video clip to share with my followers even though I wasn’t ready for it. But I cannot expect to grow in my skill at providing video content if I don’t start. So this was my beginning.

I needed to stop protecting myself from getting it wrong, because as long as I protected myself from that potential outcome, I prevented myself from growing beyond it. Hope you enjoy my first snippet! Much more to come…
  • Mandela Day – A Day of Conviction

Mandela Day – A Day of Conviction

From the archives in my time in corporate. I had this quote from Madiba on my office wall as a reminder never to settle for less than what I am capable of achieving, or at least contributing in life.

“There is no passion to be found in playing small – in settling for a life that is less than the one you are capable of living.” (Nelson Mandela)

The biggest mistake we make is when we wait for others to validate the value that we see in something before we pursue it. When we do that, we forget that we’re in fact pursuing what they see as valuable more than what we see as valuable. That denies the world our unique contribution, and more importantly, it denies us the sense of purpose that makes life rewarding.

Conviction is found when we connect with the value of an outcome. If we insist on that value being judged by the opinions of others, the only conviction we’ll experience in life is the conviction of chasing acceptance in society, or validation from others. And that is not only a torturous way to live, it’s also a recipe for chronic illness and bitterness.

Own your life, and let the rest of the world own theirs. That’s the only way in which you’ll create opportunities to attract those that are as passionate as you are, about the causes that are close to your heart.
